These Terms and Conditions explain the rules that apply when you access or use the SaveTheSnack website, mobile application and related services.

Welcome to SaveTheSnack. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the SaveTheSnack website, mobile application and related services, collectively referred to as the “Services”.

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with them, you should not use SaveTheSnack.

2. About SaveTheSnack

SaveTheSnack is designed to help individuals, households and organisations reduce food waste through food inventory tools, reminders, shopping lists, recipes, meal planning and sustainability insights.

The Services are provided for general informational, organisational and educational purposes.

3. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into an agreement to use the Services. Where local law requires parental or guardian consent, you must obtain that consent before using SaveTheSnack.

When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate and current information.

4. User accounts

You are responsible for:

  • keeping your login details and password secure
  • maintaining accurate account information
  • all activity performed through your account
  • notifying us if you suspect unauthorised access

We may suspend or restrict an account where we reasonably believe that it has been compromised or used in breach of these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purposes
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data
  • upload malicious code, viruses or harmful material
  • interfere with the operation or security of the Services
  • impersonate another person or organisation

6. User content

You retain ownership of content that you create or upload, including recipes, photos, shopping lists, notes and other information.

You grant SaveTheSnack a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, display and use that content as necessary to operate, maintain and improve the Services.

When you choose to make content public, you understand that it may be visible to other users.

7. Imported recipes and third-party content

SaveTheSnack may allow you to import recipes or other information from third-party websites and services.

Copyright and ownership of third-party material remain with the original owner. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of imported material is lawful.

SaveTheSnack may retain the source name, original link and attribution information associated with imported content.

8. Intellectual property

SaveTheSnack branding, software, logos, designs, text, graphics and other platform materials are owned by or licensed to SaveTheSnack.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or commercially exploit our intellectual property without prior written permission.

9. Food safety and health disclaimer

SaveTheSnack provides tools to help organise food and reduce waste. It does not provide medical, dietary, nutritional or food safety advice.

Dates, reminders and food information displayed through the Services may be based on information entered by users or supplied by third parties. You remain responsible for checking whether food is safe to store, prepare or consume.

Do not consume food that appears spoiled, contaminated or unsafe, regardless of information displayed in the Services.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to provide reliable access to SaveTheSnack, but we do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

We may update, replace, suspend or remove features where reasonably necessary for technical, security, legal or commercial reasons.

11. Third-party services

SaveTheSnack may include links to or integrations with third-party websites and services. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SaveTheSnack will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, loss of profits, food spoilage or decisions made based on information available through the Services.

13. Account suspension and termination

You may stop using SaveTheSnack or request the deletion of your account at any time.

We may suspend, restrict or terminate access where an account breaches these Terms, creates a security risk, harms another person or is used unlawfully.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

Where changes are material, we may also provide notice through the Services or by email.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the legal entity operating SaveTheSnack, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
